Battle Creek, MI - A local uniform distributor is wondering why her company was not given the chance to sell nurses' scrubs at Battle Creek Health System when an out-of-state company was. Sharon Van Vranken, owner of Professional Apparel in Emmett Township, said the thousands of dollars an outside vendor made in sales last week will hurt future sales at her PAC Uniform retail store. Those nurses won't need new uniforms for a long while, she said. "I just thought that was kind of asinine," Van Vranken said. "I was wondering who made this decision and why didn't they look into the community first." Store manager Diane Janz first noticed there was competition earlier this week when in-store sales were $650 less than a typical Tuesday. "Which is pathetic," she said. Link: Read the article
