The days of the all-white nurse’s uniform have almost completely been replaced by a virtual rainbow of colors in what are popularly called “scrubs.” Keeping up with an ever-increasing list of styles, color and trends in today’s uniforms is a task Tracie Cedillo and Sabrina Kirk take on with energy and enthusiasm. The two women are co-owners of Uniforms Unlimited, an Abilene business that opened July 7, 2007. Their business stocks and sells medical scrubs and accessories, shoes, emergency medical technician and paramedic uniforms, chef apparel and aprons. “We wanted our business to be more than just a place where people could come and buy scrubs,” said Cedillo, who met Kirk five years ago when the two were employed by a local medical supply company. “We knew there was a need for the chef wear, and we also have seen an increasing amount of call for the EMT and paramedic apparel. We’re happy to special order any type of uniform available, and we love helping our customers get whatever they need to be able to do their jobs.”
