Don't let the huge pink gorilla in the front of the building fool you: Angie Conley takes her businesses TLC In Home Care Inc. and Scrub University seriously.

Conley, a registered nurse, started TLC five years ago with the goal of providing respite relief to the elderly and disabled who desire independent living as opposed to institutional care.

"Attendants can come in and help with bathing, light housekeeping, laundry, running errands, light meal prep," Conley said. "I have three nurses who come out and do supervisory visits, and we're always here for monitoring, but it's not like home health."

More recently, Conley saw another need, primarily among her staff at TLC.
