Retailers and manufacturers from across North America will head to Las Vegas next week for the annual North American Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors Association (NAUMD) convention and trade show, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel, March, 5-9.
The event has a solid reputation in the uniform and corporate apparel industries as the place to find all the strategies, products, supplies and services a business needs to realize its potential – just by walking the trade show floor. All of the industry’s leading manufacturers, from Fechheimer to Edwards Garment to VF Imagewear will be on hand in the exhibit hall, March 6-7.
But the NAUMD event isn’t merely a trade show – it has a strong educational component, as well as networking opportunities, and several spectacular social gatherings. What happens in Vegas will certainly not stay in Vegas with this year’s NAUMD convention.
Here’s a peek at some of what you can expect:
Building Mega Marketing & Sales - Boosting uniform sales and profits will take center stage on March 6, when author and sales guru Chet Holmes presents a high-energy, two-hour seminar that has been hailed throughout corporate America for its discipline training and successful strategies.
Building Mega Marketing & Sales is a special seminar Mr. Holmes developed exclusively for NAUMD members from his award-winning presentations and training sessions for some of the largest corporations and sales organizations in the world.
PowerPrinciples - Using his most popular keynote, author and professional speaker Jeb Blount will teach attendees to leverage their talents to reach their dreams by employing five simple yet critical strategies. Jeff will deliver his address in conjunction with Innovation Day, Sunday, March 7.
Ty Swain, president & CEO of Growth Dynamics, turns the focus on sales, March 8. In Sales Force Performance in the 21st Century, Ty will present direct case histories of the most effective sales efforts from the front lines of member companies.
Also on March 8, two seminars put the spotlight on your online presence. Alex Dayan, senior vice president, First Rank Global, offers Search Engine Optimization techniques, while Steve Gaither, president, JB Chicago provides tips for making your website work more effectively, and explains the in’s and out’s of social networking sites.
As always, the NAUMD will run its popular Town Hall Meetings. Speakers for the NAUMD Postal Town Hall will include NALC Myra Warren, and Brian Hellman; from the APWU, Michael Foster, assistant MVS director, and Idowu Balogun, assistant director, maintenance division. Bob Gates, postal committee chairman, will moderate.
The Military Town Hall will feature presentations by David Gerringer, US Army Clothing & Equipment, Richard Keefer, US Air Force, James Mello, US Coast Guard, Pam Moriarty, US Army, Col. Kurt “Slugger” Wilson, US Defense Supply Center all moderated by NAUMD Military Affairs Committee Chairman Jim Hangley of Creaset, USA.
Image of the Year Awards
The Image of the Year Awards has become the industry’s leading social event, and the association’s signature convention activity.
The 2010 Image winners will be announced on March 6, at an evening banquet featuring a performance by Gary Lewis & the Playboys, best known for their ‘60s hit, “This Diamond Ring.”
For over 30 years, NAUMD IOY awards have recognized high achievement in the design, creation and manufacture of corporate apparel. The awards honor both the creators and wearers of these designs, and are always a crowd pleaser.
“The IOY awards recognize progressive and leading businesses in several key industries,” said Richard Lerman, president and CEO of the NAUMD. “Winners are always companies who have maintained a competitive edge in their business by placing an importance on the image of their staff. As markets become increasingly competitive, image can make all the difference between a customer gained and a customer lost.”
If you haven’t yet registered for the convention, hurry, time is running out. Visit www.naumd.com or call 212.736.3010 today.
