Safariland™, a BAE Systems line of business, introduced today a new version of its best selling Street Guard™ glove model, now with fire resistance capabilities. The SGK100FR features a Kevlar® back for excellent heat and flash protection. It protects against flame and will not combust up to 800°F (427°C). “As with many of our product developments, this product was developed with input from customers, who asked for a glove that would provide exceptional fire resistance,” stated Rick Carlson, Senior Category Manager for Safariland’s Protective Gear category. “It was natural for us to choose our Street Guard model made with goatskin, which is known for its natural fire-resistance capabilities.” This progressive design provides excellent protection from cuts and other sharp objects over the entire hand. It also features a nine ounce Kevlar interlock liner on the inside of the hands and fingers as an extra cut-resistant safeguard. The goatskin leather palms provide natural fire resistance and superior abrasion- and tear-resistance over cowhide. Further, the SGK100FR features Hatch’s Extreme-Grip™ nonslip cradles for a sure grip and excellent weapon control. This wrist-length model has a hook and loop closure for a snug fit. The Hatch SGK100FR Street Guard Gloves with Kevlar® are currently available in black in sizes XS-XXXL with an MSRP of $43.00. Also offered are Sage Green (SGK150FR), Foliage (SGK200FR) and Coyote (SGK250FR) also at $43.00. These additional colors are expected to be available at the end of March 2010.
