German textile producer Lauffenmühle <http://www.lauffenmuhle.de>  GmbH & Co. KG joined with INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand team to develop ULTIMATE fabric featuring CORDURA® fabric <http://www.cordura.com/> technology.  The new fabric will form part of Lauffenmühle’s Protective Wear line of performance fabrics for workwear.

The development of ULTIMATE fabric featuring CORDURA® fabric technology signals a new chapter in the life of CORDURA® brand fabrics for workwear applications. Traditionally known as a reinforcement fabric for workwear garments, this new offering from Lauffenmühle brings CORDURA® fabric into the protectivewear market.  “Lauffenmühle’s ULTIMATE fabric featuring CORDURA® brand technology sets a new standard in terms of performance and durability.” said Susannah Rayfield, European CORDURA® brand manager.

Lauffenmühle’s ULTIMATE fabric featuring CORDURA® brand technology, based on an intimate blend of cotton and INVISTA’s T420 nylon 6.6 fibre, is treated with flame retardant technology. The CORDURA® brand range of ULTIMATE fabrics comes in four weights – 260g/m2, 290g/m2, 340g/m2 and 360g/m2. Those of 260g/m2, 290g/m2 and 340g/m2 are available with the additional benefit of anti-static protection as specified by EN1149/5.

ULTIMATE fabric featuring CORDURA® brand technology is certified against ISO11611 and ISO11612. Of particular note is the molten iron splash performance – ISO11612 index E. At 260g/m2 and 290g/m2, ULTIMATE fabric is certified to pass at E2 level. At 340g/m2, ULTIMATE fabric is certified to pass at E3 level. All fabrics in the ULTIMATE range perform to over 150,000 Martindale cycles with woolen abradant at 12KPa weight and have exceptional colour retention to laundering and bleaching, offering the durability that CORDURA® brand fabrics are recognised for.

“We’re proud to be able to produce fabric that not only excels in safety performance, but is durable as well,” said Corona Bregenzer, Marketing Manager for Lauffenmühle. “This development between Lauffenmühle and INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand team allows us to present an innovative product to our customers and end-users.”
