INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand team announces a new line of CORDURA® Denim fabrics that offer improved durability and comfort. Based on an 88/12 intimate blend of INVISTA’s T420 Nylon 6,6 fiber and cotton the Hard Working Comfort CORDURA® Denim fabric was created for use in full garments.

“Anyone who is looking for denim that lasts should be particularly interested in the new CORDURA® Denim fabric,” said Susannah Rayfield, EU regional CORDURA® brand manager.  “The fabric offers our brand’s renowned long-lasting durability without compromising the authentic look and feel of traditional denim.”

The latest in the line of CORDURA® fabrics, CORDURA® Denim fabric provides value through lasting durability. “This latest CORDURA® fabric technology is a shining example of the innate versatility of our brand,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand manager.

Additional key benefits of CORDURA® Denim fabric include:

·       The authentic look and feel of traditional 100 percent cotton denim with exceptional durability.
·       Jeans lasts 50 to 60 percent longer compared to 100 percent cotton denim when industrial laundered.
·       Exceptional abrasion resistance – Three times more resistant to abrasion than standard 100 percent cotton denim fabric.
·      The heritage of the CORDURA® brand which has proven performance in many of the world’s toughest environments.

In a recent blind wear trial, test participants were given prototype pairs of CORDURA® Denim fabric jeans and the same style jeans constructed with 100 percent cotton denim.  Steve Molmen, Senior Electrical Technician, LP, noted that the clothing performed well and he really liked the prototype CORDURA® Denim jeans.  “They are more comfortable and softer than 100 percent cotton jeans, and they are holding the darker blue color better as we send them in for industrial laundering week after week,” he said. “Durability does not seem to be sacrificed either.”

CORDURA® Denim fabrics and garments will be available from Artistic Milliner.  INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand team and Artistic Milliner worked together to optimize the performance characteristics of this exciting new fabric.
Omer Ahmed, vice president, Global Sourcing, Artistic Milliners noted his mill’s extraordinary success in the fashion arena using INVISTA products. “Now in the workwear segment, we are proud to be affiliated with the CORDURA® brand,” said Omer.  “After thorough testing and engineering in the lab, we are pleased to say that the CORDURA® Denim fabric exhibits exceptional abrasion resistance and durability without any compromise in comfort or aesthetics.”
