RTO makes uniform compulsory for cab drivers Print E-mail

PUNE: Cabs drivers offering pick-up and drop services to the employees of IT-BPO companies in the city will now be identified easily. The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has stated that the state government has fixed the pattern of uniform for the cab drivers. The RTO has stated that it is mandatory for cab drivers to wear uniforms and I-cards (badges) while on duty.

There are aorund 11,000 cabs in the city offering services to the IT-BPO sector. Regional transport officer Chandrakant Kharatmal said, "The pattern of uniform was finalised last month. The RTO soon will initiate a drive to check the implementation of the new rules."
