With around one in three of the UK’s working population being kitted out in some form of corporate clothing, workwear or protective clothing, the Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show has become an essential fixture in the diaries of clothing buyers the length and breadth of the UK. Over eighty exhibitors – drawn from as far as Scandinavia and Tunisia – will be showing their latest products and many will be parading their clothes down the show’s specially choreographed fashion shows. Industry suppliers, from software companies to machinery manufacturers will also demonstrate equipment to improve efficiency and reduce production costs. Industry Conference The exhibitions are complemented by WorkIt! 2010 - a one day conference where leading industry experts will present on the main issues facing the industry today and the trends and technologies that will shape it tomorrow. This year’s theme is the ‘Supply Chain and Innovation’ and the international panel of speakers will discuss the latest in PPE legislation, the practicalities of sourcing in the economic downturn, how buyers and suppliers can work together more effectively, long distance manufacturing, tendering successfully, branding, nanotechnologies and the next generation of protective clothing. Awards At the end of the opening day, the leading lights of the workwear world will gather to mark the achievements of the industry at a glittering gala dinner featuring the Business Manager Awards 2010. The eight awards are hotly contested throughout the industry and include: PPE, Corporatewear, Workwear, Innovation and the Industry’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The Business Manager Awards are sponsored by INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand, Dickies and Lion Apparel. The Business Manager Awards will be hosted by Karren Brady. Karren was named as "One of the 100 most powerful women in the world" by Cosmopolitan Magazine and was Managing Director of Birmingham City Football Club until 2009. She is Chairman of Kerrang! and sits on the Board of Directors of both Mothercare and Channel 4. Her latest role sees her take up the position of Lord Sugar’s right hand woman on hit BBC TV series The Apprentice.
