WICHITA, Kan. – June 14, 2010 – INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand welcomes Doug McMullen as the new end-use marketing manager, PS&M, focusing on the fabrics for products in the military, tactical and law-enforcement market segments. In this role, McMullen will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies to increase sales of INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand products in the military, tactical and law-enforcement end-uses. In addition, he will be INVISTA’s primary interface with organizations such as the US Army, Natick Soldier Systems Center (NSSC), PM-Soldier and many more to create pull-through demand of INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand products. McMullen will also help INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand stays up-to-date on market trends and customer needs and will lead new product-development initiatives. “We are thrilled to have Doug join our team,” said Bill Colven, global CORDURA® brand business director. “His marketing and product development experience, specifically in the military and tactical industry, is a valuable asset to INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand efforts in these markets.” No stranger to the textile industry, McMullen brings more than 30 years of sales and marketing experience to aid in the development and expansion of the CORDURA® brand. Prior to joining INVISTA’S CORDURA® brand team, McMullen served as a leader in textile product innovation and research at Milliken & Company, with key focus areas in military and protection fabrics. McMullen also filled the position of AAFA Government Contracts Committee Representative during his tenure with Milliken & Company. Extensive familiarity with industrial, government, military and security performance as well as protective fabrics helped propel McMullen’s career even farther. In 2008, he was appointed as an industry representative for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Supply Chain Process Improvement Project at the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP). Over the course of his career, he has developed numerous relationships within the supply chain to quickly introduce new products to end-users.
A University of Maryland College Park graduate, McMullen earned his bachelor’s degree in transportation and physical distribution. He currently resides with his family in Spartanburg, S.C.
