naumd_logo_newNew York, NY, September 27, 2010 –The North-American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) and UniformMarket today announced a new partnership designed to better serve, educate, inform and bring value to NAUMD members, visitors to the UniformMarket News portal, and all professionals within each industry market segment.

Through this historic agreement, NAUMD will produce and distribute via email a new, complimentary monthly publication, “NAUMD UniformMarket News,” to both association members and all current readers of UniformMarket News, one of the industry’s most influential and valued online news portal. Additionally, the publication will be featured on the UniformMarket News website under a new section titled “NAUMD UniformMarket News,” and will also include breaking news from NAUMD and its over 500 member companies.

“We’re excited to partner with the UniformMarket team, and with such a well respected company,” notes NAUMD Chairman Steve Zalkin of Alamar Uniforms. “This important new collaboration will allows us to better communicate with members, bring value and programs to the industry at large, and reach and serve a far greater audience than ever before.”

“NAUMD UniformMarket News” will offer strategies and best practices for all segments of 21st century uniform industry management. NAUMD UniformMarket News intends to significantly expand on the content of what readers of other ezines have come to expect. “This isn’t going to be some fluff or sales piece,” said NAUMD President Richard J. Lerman. “Our goal is to have the publication tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time, such as sourcing, understanding leading edge fabric and manufacturing technologies, or finding new business in a sluggish economy, and will turn the spotlight on what’s working – and what’s not – in each market segment to build sales and profits.”

Bringing relevant, timely and useful news to readers has been the mission of the UniformMarket News online portal from its inception. “This is an agreement with perfect synergy,” notes UniformMarket’s CEO David Sykes. “The partnership gives the news portal a greater depth that it had, and we’re delighted to work with the NAUMD to bring expanded content and services to readers in the uniform and image apparel industries.”

“NAUMD UniformMarket News” will replace NAUMD ThisMonth, the association’s monthly newsletter. The association has hired UniformMarket News Editor Jackie Rosselli to manage all aspects of the publication, and has created an editorial board to oversee and set direction on content. Those named to the board will be announced shortly; look for the first issue of UniformMarket News in November, 2010.
