Insignia will change from eight-pointed to five-pointed star, at cost of hundreds of millions of crowns

Prague, March 25 (ČTK) — The Czech government decided to change the police officers’ insignia in connection with the planned change in their uniforms.
As of June, the current silver eight-pointed stars will be replaced with five-pointed gold stars for the higher-ranked police. The lower ranked police will have three-pointed silver stars.

It will cost over 6.3 million Kč to manufacture the new stars.

The old insignia will be valid for another four years, during which the police uniforms will be replaced, and the whole project will cost 130 million Kč every year.
