Haledon police out with the old, in with the new uniforms

The Haledon Police Department will usher in the new year with a new look.

The department’s officers will soon be wearing midnight blue uniforms, which replace the more traditional French blue shirt and Navy pants with the gold stripe down the outside of the leg. The new threads will be used for special occasions too.

“It’s definitely a sharper-looking uniform,” said Detective Tim Lindberg, president of the Haledon PBA. “It’s the latest version. It’s durable and the best that’s out there.”

Department spokesman Lt. George Guzman said the 17 regular officers and 17 Class 2 special officers will be donning the new uniforms.
