Dear Editor: With the holidays nearly upon us, many medical professionals start hoping that among their holiday gifts, they’ll find the perfect uniform. We thought we’d put together a few tips that nurses can subtlety share with their “gift givers” to help guide their buying so they get the perfect gift. Of course gift givers will have to choose a uniform that fits within a company policy, but even with restrictions, there are many important considerations that go into choosing a uniform.
In addition, consider the style that matches your job and the people you interact with. Do you work with kids? Are you in the ICU or a medical office? If you are more active, a fabric that has mechanical stretch or is soft against the skin will feel more comfortable when you are on the move.
