DENVER — Metro-area fire departments have ordered changes to uniforms in light of recent threats against law enforcement and as a way to keep personnel safe on the job.

The West Metro Fire Department is having firefighters wearing a more casual look. The blue T-shirt has the words “Fire-Rescue” in large letters on the back and is the department’s class “C” uniforms.

There is no word if the change will be permanent, but in light of the current environment and threats, no one at West Metro wants to take any chances.
