GALESBURG — In 2004, a 24-year-old police officer in Galesburg started a police uniform store with a small section for medical uniforms.

Eleven years later, Jason Paulsgrove’s Midwest Uniform Supply sells primarily medical uniforms and has expanded to Peoria, a mobile division and is hoping to add a third location later this year.

“I started out in police uniforms, and just a little bit of medical, and within seven months maybe, we were totally out of everything else and just did the scrubs,” Paulsgrove, 35, said. “I’ve kind of immersed myself in scrubs now.”

Midwest Uniform Supply has been growing since it started. It started as a small shop at 216 S. Chambers St.

“My small little shop on Chambers is where I always thought it would be,” Paulsgrove said. “I just envisioned it maybe being me and a part-time employee or two.”

A year later, Midwest Uniform Supply moved to 240 S. Seminary St., where it was located until this year, when it moved to 627 N. Seminary St., right across from Cottage Hospital.
