Online workwear retailer opens first storefront in Richfield

The windows of the new Minnesota Workwear store remain covered with white signage. Shelves are neatly stacked with folded Dickies brand shirts and pants. Partially unpacked boxes litter the back hallway.

Around the corner, Tim Burns, Minnesota Workwear’s owner, sits in his office reflecting on the new and exciting direction his 18-year-old company is about to take only days before it opens its first store June 18.

“I think we fit in this area really well,” Burns said. “Retail is newer for us. We’re used to being behind the scenes, but that’s not going to go away.”
