Selma, AL – February 1, 2011 – Jim Hodo, Chief Operating Officer of American Apparel Inc., is proud to announce and welcome Kurt Wilson as Vice President of Business Development and Government Affairs. Wilson brings with him almost 25 years of leadership experience from a vast array of roles in the Air Force, where he recently retired at the grade of Colonel and held the position of Director, Clothing and Textiles at Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia PA. “I am pleased Kurt has joined our team” said Hodo. “He will be an excellent addition to a staff pledged to provide quality military uniforms to the Department of Defense. Our recent acquisition of an 80K sq. ft. facility adjacent to our Selma location, will give Kurt a clean slate to work with in execution of his business development responsibilities.” About American Apparel Inc. American currently has over 1,330 employees throughout the state of Alabama, with plants in Selma, Centre, Oneonta, Fort Deposit, and Opp. Together, these locations provide almost 600,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and warehousing capability. A recent purchase of facilities and land adjacent to the Selma AL location will give American Apparel the flexibility of expanding current operations or entering into new lines of support for the Department of Defense or other supply chains.
