Irish workwear maker Portwest has launched a see-through hard hat, claiming it will boost site safety by allowing workers more easily to see what’s around them.
Made from a translucent polycarbonate material, the hat lets the wearer see from any angle without excessive head tilting or turning the hat back-to front.
The company claims to be the first to European and American markets with the hat, which it calls “revolutionary”.
It comes in a range of colours and is fully certified to European and US safety standards, Portwest said.
Called Peak View, the hat is light and UV400 stabilised, offering protection against UVA and UVB radiation.
