Sheriff’s dept. aims to look ‘less militant’ with new uniforms

It’s a getup reminiscent of Wyatt Earp and his famed lawmen that’s transforming the look – and budget – of one Arkansas sheriff’s department.

The new uniform consists of a white oxford shirt, or black for the night shift, and Levis or Wrangler blue jeans or khakis. Cowboy hats are optional, but judging by the photograph, ties are likely required.

“I want to keep a uniform and professional look while getting the biggest bang for our taxpayer dollars!” said Logan County Sheriff Boyd Hicks.
