Burlington Industries has commissioned a newly modernized dyehouse at its manufacturing facility in Raeford, North Carolina.
The investment supports the company’s domestic textile production and strengthens a facility that plays a key role in supplying uniform fabrics to the U.S. military.
Raeford Remains a Critical Source for Military Uniform Fabrics
The Raeford facility produces specialized fabrics used in military dress uniforms and is the only U.S. manufacturer producing these fabrics domestically.
The operation currently supports dress uniform programs for all six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, and Space Force.
New Dyehouse Adds Capacity and Updated Technology
Burlington says the modernized dyehouse gives the Raeford team updated tools and technology to support future production needs.
Jeffrey P. Pritchett, CEO of Burlington parent company Elevate Textiles, said the investment reflects confidence in the facility, its workforce, and its role in supporting U.S. military programs.
Investment Builds on More Than 70 Years in Raeford
Burlington’s Raeford operation has been part of the domestic textile manufacturing base for more than 70 years.
Guy Lucas, President of Burlington, said the investment is intended to help employees continue producing high-quality uniform fabrics while preserving critical manufacturing capabilities in North Carolina.
The company says it plans to continue investing in domestic production, its workforce, and textile capabilities that support military, government, and commercial markets.
