One of the most successful sources of funds for the Cape Coral Hospital Auxiliary is the Cape Uniforms and More store, which opened its doors in November 2006. The store was originally located at the rear of the hospital near the entrance to the Birthing Suite. A little more than a year ago, however, it moved to its new location adjacent to the Coral Tree Gift Shop off the hospital’s main lobby. It can be entered through the Gift Shop or its “back door” on the left at the Day Surgery entrance.

Eric Huard, the uniform store manager, has been extremely busy during the past six months supplying hospital employees with new uniforms that conform to the entire system’s new dress code. Most major service areas of the hospital chose specific colors for their “scrubs” that can be identified with their specialty; for example pink for Breast Center, red for Blood Center, galaxy blue and white for floor nurses, and chocolate for housekeeping.

Besides the new uniforms, the store also stocks jackets, shoes, nursing supplies, and medical accessories. They also carry a variety of other clothing and accessories appropriate for the many dental and medical office personnel in the community and they are invited to shop for their needs in this well-stocked store. The store has extended business hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, and from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
