Jetstar’s cabin crew, pilots, and airport staff across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific have debuted a new uniform for the first time in the airline’s 20-year history.
Designed by Genevieve Smart
The collection was crafted by renowned Australian designer Genevieve Smart, Co-founder and Creative Director of Ginger & Smart. Over the past two years, Smart collaborated closely with 40 Jetstar pilots, cabin crew, and airport team members to refine the designs.
The new uniforms feature a refreshed color palette of soft orange and blue, inspired by the stunning hues of a sunset seen from an aircraft window.
This modern wardrobe will outfit over 6,000 frontline Jetstar team members across Australia, as well as Jetstar airlines in New Zealand, Singapore, and Japan. The launch signifies a fresh chapter for the airline, which is poised to sell more than 12 million fares under $100 this year, and over 21 million fares under $200.
Versatile and Stylish Options
The uniform offers a variety of options catering to individual styles. Cabin crew and airport staff can choose from blazers in blue or orange, tailored skirts, tapered trousers, shirt dresses, polos, and overcoats.
Pilots will transition from traditional black uniforms to sleek blue ensembles, featuring modern cuts, new epaulettes, and even an optional neck scarf.
Sustainable Disposal of Old Uniforms
In Australia and New Zealand, retired uniforms will be sustainably recycled through a partnership with BlockTexx®, an organization using advanced textile recovery technology to transform fabrics into high-grade raw materials. This process, conducted entirely in Australia, supports local jobs and environmental sustainability.
The Melbourne-based Workwear Group partnered with Jetstar to manufacture the new uniforms.
CEO’s Statement
Jetstar Group CEO Stephanie Tully expressed excitement about the milestone:
“We listened to our people and worked together to create a uniform that reflects the next chapter of low-fare flying for Jetstar, our team, and our customers.

Designer’s Vision
Genevieve Smart emphasized collaboration, inclusivity, and sustainability as central to the project:
“This collection reflects freedom, movement, and the joy of travel. Inspired by sunrises from an aircraft window, the reimagined orange and blue palette symbolizes new horizons for Jetstar.”
