National Safety Apparel (NSA) has formally taken over Bashlin Industries, Inc., a popular U.S. manufacturer recognized for its premium climbing equipment, fall protection solutions, and accessories tailored for utility and industrial workers.
Founded in 1926 by W.M. Bashlin, Bashlin Industries Inc., is a fourth-generation family-owned company located in Grove City, Pennsylvania. For nearly 100 years, Bashlin has been trusted by power utility workers, telecommunications linemen, and industrial teams for delivering durable and innovative gear. The company has built its reputation on values like quality, safety, and comfort, serving both North American and international markets.
This acquisition strengthens NSA’s position in the safety industry by adding premium climbing belts, straps, and gear to its already wide-ranging portfolio. It also opens new cross-selling opportunities by leveraging Bashlin’s well-established distributor network and loyal customer base.
“Bashlin Industries has a long-standing legacy of quality and trust,” said Chuck Grossman, CEO of NSA. “We’ve had a great relationship with the Bashlin and Schell families since acquiring Kunz Glove in 2020. Bringing Bashlin into our family of brands is a strategic step forward. It enhances our manufacturing capabilities and supports future innovation and growth.”
NSA, located in Cleveland, is a prominent provider of high-quality personal protective equipment and safety gear. Its products are widely used in the electrical, industrial, and service sectors. Brands under the NSA umbrella include DRIFIRE, Enespro, and Wild Things, all known for quality, performance, and innovation.
With this acquisition, NSA continues to expand its reach and product variety in the utility and safety sectors. According to Brad McGill, President of Bashlin Industries, this move is a natural fit. “Joining NSA is an exciting new chapter for Bashlin. We share the same values when it comes to high-quality manufacturing and protecting workers on the front lines.”
The expansion of NSA has been backed by Blue Point Capital Partners, a private equity firm that oversees more than $1.8 billion in assets. Blue Point focuses on building value in middle-market companies, especially in the industrial and safety sectors.
“Bashlin marks the third major addition to NSA in just 15 months,” said Jon Pressnell, Partner at Blue Point. “It reflects our shared commitment to growth through smart, well-planned acquisitions. With Blue Point’s experience in the safety space, and the combined strength of NSA and Bashlin, we’re well-positioned for the future.”
NSA plans to continue expanding and is actively looking for more partnerships with founders and owners of businesses in the safety industry. Those interested can reach out to Megan Kneipp, Blue Point’s Managing Director of Business Development.
