SanMar Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire BELLA+CANVAS, the blank apparel manufacturer known for premium fashion basics used across the apparel and promotional products industries.

BELLA+CANVAS will continue to operate as an independent brand after the acquisition. Megan Spire, the company’s executive vice president, will remain in her role and lead the brand through its next phase.

BELLA+CANVAS to Remain Independent

Under SanMar’s ownership, BELLA+CANVAS says it will gain access to greater investment, industry expertise, and operational infrastructure while maintaining its creative independence.

SanMar said the goal is to give BELLA+CANVAS the resources and focused ownership needed to continue serving the market with premium blank apparel.

Support for Growth and Distribution

BELLA+CANVAS co-founder Danny Harris said the company looked for an owner that would protect the brand’s identity while supporting its next stage of growth.

He said SanMar is positioned to help the brand grow through stronger inventory depth, service, and operational support.

BELLA+CANVAS products will continue to be sold through authorized wholesale distributors across the United States.

Leadership Continuity

Co-founder Marco DeGeorge said it was important for BELLA+CANVAS to join a privately held, family-owned company rather than a private equity buyer.

Megan Spire said the company will continue to focus on serving printers, decorators, and sellers with high-quality blank apparel while bringing more innovation and newness to the brand.
