In a recent development, Superior Group of Companies has announced that they will be investing over $800,000 to revamp and modernize a vacant warehouse in Northeast Louisiana.

According to a news release, the project will create 50 direct jobs. While Louisiana Economic Development estimates that it will give rise to 57 indirect opportunities.

Superior Group has planned to install a quality assurance room, new bathrooms, and offices in the warehouse in Lake Providence. The upcoming establishment will be used as a replenishment warehouse to support nearby operations in Oak Grove and Eudora, Arkansas, said the release.

On the interior, SGC plans to replace walls, run new wiring and add lights. While on the exterior, four shipping docks will be built along with the resurfacing of the driveway and shipping area.

Renovation is expected to begin early this year and will be completed by the second quarter. The company will begin hiring for the newly created vacancies after the project is finished.

Louisiana has offered SGC a performance-based award of $400,000 and the company is expected to use the State’s Enterprise Zone program.
