Pincroft, a global leader in military fabric printing, dyeing, and finishing, has strengthened its position as a leading global supplier of camouflage fabric with a £1.5 million investment in advanced rotary printing technology.
The expansion, revealed during a visit from top UK officials, highlights the push to bring military textile production back home, strengthen supply chains, and create more jobs.
Strategic Expansion in Military Textile Manufacturing
During the official visit, key government figures, including Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, Speaker of the House of Commons and Member of Parliament for Chorley, and Maria Eagle MP, Minister of State for Defence Procurement and Industry—joined Pincroft’s CEO, John Vareldzis, and Managing Director, Mike Collins, in cutting the ribbon in front of a small group of directors and industry guests, emphasizing the significance of UK-based expertise in military textiles.
The ceremony signified a major milestone in military printing innovation and the UK’s commitment to advanced textile production.
The discussion at the event highlighted the strategic importance of localizing camouflage fabric production to enhance the national defense system.
By adopting state-of-the-art technology, Pincroft is working to lessen its dependence on global suppliers and enhance the efficiency of military uniform manufacturing. For retailers, distributors, and manufacturers in the U.S. uniform industry, this expansion highlights the growing demand for precision-printed camouflage fabrics and rapid customization capabilities.
Investment in Advanced Textile Technology
Pincroft’s latest investment includes the installation of a Rotascreen TG rotary printer from Austrian manufacturer Zimmer. Equipped with 12 printheads and a state-of-the-art magnet system, the printer ensures superior precision, faster reorders, and consistent coverage—critical features for military-grade camouflage fabric.
Additionally, Pincroft has strengthened its production capabilities by bringing screen-making in-house with the SPGPrints bestLEN direct rotary engraving system.
This new addition enhances flexibility, creativity, and efficiency in producing camouflage patterns, allowing the company to respond quickly to the evolving needs of defense agencies and uniform manufacturers worldwide.
On the whole, Pincroft’s £1.5 million investment reflects a broader industry trend towards reshoring critical military manufacturing capabilities, a movement that U.S. uniform suppliers and defense contractors are also prioritizing.
By embracing advanced textile technologies and reinforcing domestic production, U.S. manufacturers can gain insights from Pincroft’s strategy to strengthen their own supply chains.
