VF Corporation to Sell Dickies to Bluestar Alliance

VF Corporation, the company that owns popular brands like The North Face and Vans, announced a major business move: they are selling the iconic workwear brand Dickies to Bluestar Alliance LLC for a total of $600 million in cash.

Dickies is much more than just a clothing brand. For over a hundred years, it has been a cultural favorite, known for its durable, authentic clothes that blend tough workwear with streetwear style. Joseph Gabbay, the CEO of Bluestar Alliance, said he has a lot of respect for the brand’s past. He mentioned that Dickies has been making tough, durable, and comfortable clothes since 1922. He stated the company is committed to supporting Dickies’ growth by using their expertise to “unlock its full value.”

The sale is a strategic decision for VF Corporation. Bracken Darrell, CEO of VF, explained that the transaction will help the company pay down its debt and focus its resources on its larger, core brands. He believes the move will be good for Dickies, too: “Dickies is an iconic American workwear brand with a bright future, and I am confident that under Bluestar Alliance’s ownership, it will continue to improve and realize its significant growth potential.”

The deal is expected to close by the end of 2025, once all regulatory steps are completed.
