Color-coded uniforms

Identifying a nurse or nurse’s aide at Paris Community Hospital is as easy as viewing colors on a color wheel.

PCH/FMC recently implemented standardized uniform colors for its hospital nursing staff. These standards make it easier for patients and visitors to identify the person who is caring for them, as the color represents a nurse’s level of training and specific roles.

For example, registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in the hospital are easily identified as wearing uniforms/scrubs that are solid navy, solid white, or a combination of navy and white. These colors are the national standards for nursing uniforms. Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in the hospital can be spotted wearing ceil blue-colored uniforms/scrubs.
