Janie Shoto and her daughter Christina usually are sewing and hemming dresses in their vintage boutique shop, Circa 77, just off the Square on Oak Street.

But on Friday afternoon, they were packed into Shoto’s home office with three sewing machines, two experienced seamstresses and boxes overflowing with dark green fabric.

This team of clothing experts is working on the boutique’s highest-profile project since the business opened in 2005, Shoto said. They have been asked to recreate four historic park ranger uniforms from the 1920s through the ’60s for the National Park Service’s 100th birthday celebration in August.

The finished products will be showcased Aug. 27 in Maryland at the Park Service fashion show, coordinated by Mary Bielamowicz, one of Shoto’s former interns at Circa 77 and a recent University of North Texas graduate. Bielamowicz, 22, is currently an intern with the Park Service in the Washington, D.C., area.
