Volkswagen Launches New Uniform for Female Staff in Japan

While America is crazy about Japanese cars, those in the land of the rising sun seem to have an affinity for Bimmers, Mercs and VWs. That’s not as important as the fact that Volkswagen has just designed office uniforms for its female employees working in dealerships.

This kind of thing is crucial in Japan. Once, Nissan even released a documentary about its first female employees from the 60s. So why should Volkswagen be different?

From what we understand about Japanese society, women are rarely given high-level positions. That would explain why these office ladies look more like cleaning attendants or stewardesses.

It’s more “would you like some tea” and less “let’s go on an awesome life-changing test drive”.
