Apparel Magazine, the leading media brand for the apparel industry for more than 52 years, has announced its “2011 Top Innovators.”

Top Innovators are chosen annually by Apparel’s editors from nominations submitted by a host of interested parties within the apparel and apparel retail market. Eligible firms include apparel manufacturers, brands and retailers who have taken an innovative approach in their business — whether that be a new product, an improvement in operations or an innovative adaption of technology.

“The parameters are intentionally broad since innovation can permeate so many aspects of a business,” says Apparel’s editor in chief, Jordan Speer. “An Innovator might be a company that is serving consumers more effectively, or being aggressive in implementing technology to improve the bottom line, or adopting sustainable business practices that benefit their environment, community, customers and employees.

“As has been typical in the past, we had a very worthy pool of nominated firms and we’re proud to share the positive aspects of so many outstanding companies in our industry.”

Apparel’s 2011 Top Innovators are Abercrombie & Fitch, Aramark Uniform Services, Barco Uniforms, Bob’s Stores, Burberry Group PLC, Carhartt, Chasing Fireflies, Chico’s, Columbia Sportswear, De Soto Triathlon Company, FLY London (Kyaia Group), Gabrielle Alexandra, Gap Inc., Gilt Groupe, Grandoe, Horace Small, Joseph Abboud, Lafayette 148, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, Maidenform, Marc Aurel and Massif Mountain Gear.
