Bennett Uniform Manufacturing Inc. is poised to add up to 20 employees as it expands manufacturing operations within its Federal Drive location at High Point’s Piedmont Centre corporate park.
The company makes uniforms and custom-branded apparel for major clothing retailers and industries including fast-food restaurants and health care. Tyler Bennett, an owner, declined to provide details about which customers are driving demand, but said upfits are ongoing at its 35,000-square-foot building to increase sewing and knitting capabilities. Bennett said the building itself isn’t expanding, just the manufacturing operations inside. To accommodate expected growth, Bennett could potentially add 20 employees this year on top of its existing 20-person work force, he said.
“It’s a new venture for us, and we are getting the manufacturing set up right now,” Bennett said. “There’s a lot of potential and a lot of momentum behind it.”
