Cintas Corporation today announced St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, as the grand prize winner of its Wear the Care Contest™. The contest recognizes the positive impact of a professional image on patient satisfaction and awards $10,000 in complimentary apparel from Cintas to the winning healthcare facility.

“A quality apparel program empowers employees and says to the patient, ‘we care about you’,” said Debra Trujillo, Patient Access Supervisor at St. Marks Hospital. “Our employees were excited to learn that they had been chosen to receive the image makeover. Now, we will finally be able to show our patients and visitors that we take pride in the service we provide though our new professional appearance.”

To win the contest, applicants had to explain how an image apparel program could help their department improve patient satisfaction. Submissions were solicited from over 3,000 hospital managers within patient access, housekeeping and foodservice. An independent judging panel selected St. Mark’s because their entry best demonstrated the link between a professional image and perception of care.

In addition to the grand prize, 50 facilities were selected to receive the Cintas Image Prize Pack that included a demonstration of the Sanis UltraClean™ service and a floor mat customized with its logo.

“This contest helps hospitals understand the value that an image program could bring to their patient experience and satisfaction levels,” said Brian Garry, Senior Director of Marketing for Cintas. “The results following the program rollout at St. Mark’s will exemplify that image matters. When the staff looks and feels professional their patients have confidence that they are receiving the best care.”
