Massachusetts-based apparel wholesaler Commonwealth Cotton was recently acquired by Alphabroder, the second largest supplier by revenue in the promotional products industry.

The financial terms of the deal have not yet been released.

Commonwealth Cotton was founded in Boston, MA in 1987 and provides a wide range of apparel, from T-shirts and sweatshirts to headware and more. Norm Hullinger, CEO of Alphabroder, said Commonwealth Cotton will help the company better serve customers throughout New England and beyond.

“Commonwealth Cotton has built an outstanding business through developing the right assortment of products and excellent customer focus,” said Hullinger. “These tenets align very well with Alpphabroder’s commitment to product assortment, deep inventory and outstanding customer service. The two businesses will immediately complement each other.”

David Cramer, Founder/President of Commonwealth Cotton, stated that he will also be joining Alphabroder but as a senior sales position.

“We are looking forward to maintaining and, in fact, increasing the support level for Commonwealth Cotton’s loyal customers,” said Cramer. “Alphabroder represents the best in the industry from products to inventory to customer service. We couldn’t be more excited for the growth and expansion this represents.”

Commonwealth Cotton will continue to operate in its existing facility for the time being, but eventually the operations will be moved to Alphabroder’s facility in Middleboro, MA.
