When you hear “cherry blossoms,” obviously you think of Japan, Washington D.C..,…and Finnair? To celebrate the annual return of the pink petals, the Nordic airline is decking out its crew in colorful cherry-blossom-printed kimonos and yukatas on select routes through April 16.

The idea might sound Japan-inspired, but these stylish kimonos have a decidedly Finnish twist: They are made with colorful Marimekko fabrics. The bright robes come in various vintage and new prints spanning five decades of Marimekko designs, like the chic black-and-pink Rose Tree pattern from 1957, as well as the 1964 poppy print that already graces Finnair’s tableware and livery.

In addition to the Marimekko kimonos, Finnair is serving a special Sakura menu of noodles and dessert in economy class, delivered via trolleys decorated with sakura flowers. And that lovely aroma in the loo? That’ll be the L’Occidane Cherry Blossom fragrance. Happy spring!
