Following the retirement of Bill Biedenharn on June 30, Ukrop’s Threads announced Jeff Ukrop (46) as the new president and CEO of the company.

While this is the first time Ukrop’s Threads has appointed a family member to run the Midlothian based supplier, distributor, and manufacturer of corporate apparel and uniform programs, Jeff Ukrop will be returning to run the family business after a 10 year stint with non-profit and consulting.

Prior to this, Jeff held several roles at a grocery chain that was started by his grandfather in 1937. Upon being appointed as the new President and CEO, Jeff said, “When they found out Bill was retiring, they approached me about running it. I thought to myself that if I am ever going to make a change back into the family business, this was a really unique opportunity. Maybe now is the time to do it.” Bill Biedenharn will remain on the Company’s Board of Directors.

Jeff also said, “Bill and the team have established a great foundation of quality, innovation, and service in providing uniforms, apparel, and promotional goods to businesses and their employees throughout the country. I look forward to working with a talented team to build partnerships, leverage new technology, and design attractive work apparel as we continue to deliver best in class customer experiences in the years to come.”

Ukrop’s Threads was initially started as Ukrop’s Dress Express in 1993 to provide uniforms to the grocery chain employees. The company started spreading its branches from the grocery business to other fields in 1998 and adopted the current name in 2017.

Today Ukrop’s Threads provide uniform fulfillment to over 1500 locations and 1,000,000 associates nationally. Some of its customers include Fortune 500 Companies belonging to fields like national convenience store chains, theme parks, quick-serve restaurants, and many more.
