Klopman Vantage Fabric featuring CORDURA® brand technology received the Company Clothing Industry Award’s 2009 ‘Fabric and Fibre Innovation Award.’   The gala dinner and awards event, which celebrates corporate image through clothing, was held on 12th of March at the Park Lane Sheraton Hotel in London. The evening was hosted by British celebrity, Myleene Klass, and leading designer, Alex van Baalen.

“It is exhilarating to witness the evolution of a fabric from initial concept to award-winning recognition,” said Susannah Rayfield, EMEA CORDURA® brand manager.  “This venture brought together two great players in the textile industry to provide a truly innovative solution for workwear garment producers.”

Two years in the making, Klopman International and INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand business unveiled Klopman Vantage Fabric at Expoprotection in November 2008. The two companies worked together to develop an innovative fabric, offering the workwear market the optimum combination of durability and comfort. The resulting winning fabric is a twill construction, based on a 50/50 intimate blend of combed cotton and INVISTA T420™ nylon 6,6 fibre, combined with the dyeing and finishing expertise of Klopman International to ensure the fabric performs to the highest industry standards.

“We chose to recognize Klopman Vantage Fabric featuring CORDURA® brand technology because the performance of the fabric represents a step-change in terms of durability and abrasion resistance without compromising on comfort or aesthetic appeal. These factors heavily influence the success of workwear garments,” said Jose Sanchez de Muniain, Chairman of the judging panel, former editor of Company Clothing and current editor of Fire & Rescue magazine and Industrial Fire Journal.  “The fabric offers something new to the industry – and that is what we look for in a winning fabric.”
