Superior Uniform Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:SGC), has again been recognized by Apparel Magazine for its recent fiscal performance, ranking 42 on the publication’s 2009 list of the Top 50 most profitable publicly traded apparel companies on the U.S. stock exchange. The industry-leading magazine publishes the definitive ranking based on profit margins for the companies’ most recent fiscal years.  “Superior Uniform is thrilled to be included in Apparel Magazine’s Top 50 list which is dominated by global icons such as True Religion, Polo Ralph Lauren, and others familiar to a consumer audience,” said Superior Uniform Group’s CEO Michael Benstock. “To be included in the same class is a tremendous accomplishment for our company. By being the only company on the list specializing in image apparel and uniforms, our business model is unique to these consumer brands. I’m proud to say that every employee has played a role in ensuring our fiscal performance matched our directives. We will continue to be successful at our core business, providing image apparel, while identifying and acting upon additional creative opportunities.” In an environment where most companies have been reluctant to invest, Superior Uniform Group paid down company debt, launched its unique slip footwear line, TUGS!™, and implemented a new CRM system to support their marketing and sales organization. The company also made the key decision to outsource more sales, customer service and support functions to save money by converting an in-house call center in El Salvador into a separate business, The Office Gurus, which serves not only Superior Uniform but also other U.S. firms.
