Announced today, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has decided to delay the recently announced requirement for crew entering through Known Crewmember (KCM) access points to wear their uniforms

But despite the reversal, the agency is still moving forward with planned increased Unpredictable Screening Procedures (USP) that involved randomly selecting crewmembers to go through PreCheck screening while the KCM is being audited.

Flight crew representatives were alerted this past weekend by the TSA that a uniform requirement for KCM access points would take effect on August 28. The enhanced USP procedures go into effect today.

Nearly 400 operations participate in the NATA-run KCM program, along with Part 121 participants, as well as NATA’sC Compliance Services group administers.
