Every stitch of clothing Team USA will wear at the Sochi Olympic Winter Games this February will have a “Made in the USA” label.
Each article of clothing made by Ralph Lauren, including opening and closing ceremony uniforms and Olympic Village gear, has been made by American craftsman and manufacturers in the United States, reports The Associated Press.
During last year’s London Olympics, there was an uproar among Washington politicians over the fact that most U.S. Olympic gear was made in China.
Forbes reported that House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi told reporters that the nation’s Olympic athletes “should be wearing uniforms that are made in America.”
One U.S. senator even said he would rather have American athletes go naked than have them wear foreign-made uniforms.
