iQ Series FR Workwear

Evanston, IL – 06/25/2021 – North American leader in the supply and servicing of uniforms, workwear, and facility service products, UniFirst Corporation, has announced a brand-new safety apparel series to its robust core uniform service offering of flame-resistant (FR) and high-visibility personal protective equipment (PPE). The new series is called Bulwark® iQ Series®.

UniFirst is currently offering Bulwark iQ Series FR workwear shirts, pants, and more to its business customers in a partnership with Bulwark, a subsidiary of VF Corporation.

With a Category 2, 2112-compliant arc-rated safety garments certificate from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), this new collection is changing the FR industry by correcting the everyday issues that are associated with garment weight, flexibility, breathability, and comfortability when worn in warmer climates.

The iQ Series FR Workwear has been labeled as “breaks the comfort barrier without compromising your level of protection” and it represents a new way to think about FR and fire safety in uniform provision.

The innovative shirts and coveralls are woven with new TenCate EVOLVE™ – an ultra-lightweight comfortable 5.5 oz./yd. blended FR fabric with Nomex® by DuPont®. They also offer 360-degree enhanced visibility striping for workers in low-/no-light environments and the endurance work pants feature advanced Westex G2™ fabrics by Milliken.

In the oil, gas, electrical, drilling and welling sectors where fire hazards are ever-present, the iQ series is revolutionizing the way FR garments look, feel, touch, perform, and breathe. Such FR uniforms and PPE often make a crucial difference in helping workers protect themselves from burns, blindness, and other injuries.

Since heavier and motion-restricting workwear can be quite unbreathable, it adds an extra layer of risk and difficulty to situations that are already hazardous. This is why the iQ series is designed with next-gen technology to help combat industry-related risks with highly-breathable, lightweight, and simple construction that will help the wearer to focus on the work and not the workwear.
