The chain selected Simon Jersey due to its full service offering, which includes product design and manufacture, as well as industry expertise, saving the need to use a number of suppliers. The brief was to help create a new uniform that provided a cohesive corporate image across its entire business, while still allowing for individual styles, tastes and job roles.

Simon Jersey met the brief by designing a front to back-of-house solution, which included suiting, shirts and blouses, and accessories for managers, as well as clothing for maintenance, spa, housekeeping and gardening staff.

Ian Bracken, sales manager at Simon Jersey, explained: “Lavender Hotels had a number of unique requirements for the project, so our design team worked closely with the hotels to ensure that they got a uniform they were satisfied with.

“This included interpreting the hotel logo into tailor-made neckerchiefs, replacing the spa team’s baggy t-shirts with sleek tunics, and selecting clip-on ties to ensure a consistent knot size and length.”

The designs were presented to the hotel management on several occasions, giving them the opportunity to play with numerous styles and colour ways to see what they liked. Each shortlisted option was then shown on a computerized mannequin, giving it a more realistic look.
