At Brunswick Uniform Supply, it’s Karen Levine-Pedone’s job to outfit Central Jersey residents for their jobs.

“You have someone just coming in for a pair of jeans and then five minutes later you have someone coming in and they want to clothe their whole staff,” she said.

Levine-Pedone loves her customers. She said they’re the reason she got into the business.

Levine-Pedone worked for more than a decade at John’s Uniform in Franklin, but she left the company in December 2007 and in January 2008 decided to open her own home-based uniform business.

When John’s went out of business in late 2008, Levine-Pedone decided to open a store.

“As bad as the economy was, I knew that there was a great need for a store like this in the area, and I knew I could run it properly,” she said.

Levine-Pedone opened Brunswick Uniform Supply in late March. At her 3,000 square-foot store above Asbury-MS Locksmithing, Levine-Pedone supplies uniforms for employers and also a wide selection of work clothing, shoes and equipment. In addition to rugged outer wear, jeans and golf shirts, the store sells everything from medical scrubs to chef’s uniforms to rain suits
