While frontline healthcare workers were rightfully recognized for their selfless efforts in the fight against COVID-19, lesser-known warriors like truckers had yet to be acknowledged for aiding the pandemic relief effort… until now.

Red Kap, an affordable and innovative workwear brand, has launched the Trucker Tab campaign to thank the frontline road warriors for doing their part by ensuring stores across the country are fully stocked with groceries and other essentials.

In general, truckers move over 70% of the stocks and goods across the U.S. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for essentials and food items grew, and major retailers saw offline and online sales grow by 11% and a whopping 163%, respectively.

However, with the virus came longer work hours and the added difficulty of finding food along the way, which only became more challenging with restaurant closings occurring in tandem with the expansion of the pandemic across the country.

While hashtag campaigns like #ThankATrucker have trended on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook earlier this year, Red Kap believes it’s simply not enough and launched a campaign to serve as a ‘thank you’ to the frontline truckers nationwide.

As part of the campaign, Red Kap partnered with a Southern-themed restaurant chain, Cracker Barrel, to offer truckers with something they could see, touch, feel, and even taste in the form of one of the biggest breakfast tabs in the nation. Red Kap hopes to provide thousands of complimentary meals to the truckers through this campaign.

“Social media posts thanking truck drivers are great, but we wanted to give our road warriors something infinitely more delicious,” says VF Imagewear Sr. Director of Marketing Cindy Chatman-Marshall. “If truckers stop, America stops. Red Kap has been making workwear for the trucking community for decades, so we know how hard they work to keep things running. We jumped at the opportunity to capture those feelings of gratitude and turn them into well-deserved, hearty meals like a hash brown casserole and buttermilk pancakes.”

Any company that donates $500 or more to the Trucker Tab will be featured on their partner list on the trucker tab website. Email partners@truckertab.com  or visit Trucker Tab for more information.
