Smart Apron Official Vendor of US Foods Direct

US-based veteran-owned manufacturer of multi-functional and highly durable work aprons has been appointed as the official supplier to the US Foods Direct.

The US Foods Direct website allows their 400,000+ customers an “endless aisle” of 62000 specialty foods, pantry staples, disposables & non-food products from reputed suppliers.

Smart Apron is known for its innovative designs and functionalities that enable restaurant and retail professionals to work with more ease and effectiveness. The aprons focus on making work items easily accessible through an innovative 7-pocket design. Other features include quick-release, adjustable waistband, and 16 reinforced stress points for greater wearer comfort through long work shifts.

Smart Apron is the brainchild of Kevin Hoy, CEO of Smart Innovative Products LLC, who thought of this innovative, high-functional apron design while waiting tables at Red Robin and found the traditional designs to be counter-productive to his job. He wanted to devise an apron with several pockets and zippers to hold work items, much like the military uniforms. And that’s how Smart Apron came to be.

His first prototype was a reasonable success after which we went on to develop it further, add more designs to the product line, and bring onboard his son, Kieran in 2018 as the Marketing Director to land this contract with US Foods Direct in 2020.

“I was always frustrated with the traditional design when I waited tables, as there were so many items you had to carry, and the cheap aprons were more of a hindrance than helpful,” said Kevin Hoy. “Today’s staff have to also carry protective items, and that’s why Smart Aprons are considered an essential part of any professional integrated uniform.”

Smart Aprons will be offering US Foods Direct three designs initially – Waist, Bib & Ful Bistro – in 4 different colors, with plans to offer new designs in 2022.
